Outlook Express Setup – Create a New Account
This page describes how to setup a new e-mail account in Outlook Express. If you intend to modify an existing account in Outlook Express, please refer to the page titled Outlook Express Setup – Modify an Existing Account
Step 1 - Open Outlook Express

Note: If you have never configured, or used, your Outlook Express email program, the Internet Connection Wizard will open automatically. If this happens to you, go directly to step 4 (below).
Step 2 -
In Outlook Express; go to the "Tools" menu and click on "Accounts."

Step 3 -
In the "Mail" tab; click the "Add" button and then "Mail."
Note: If there is already an existing Mail account listed that you would like to modify (instead of adding a new account), please go directly Step 4 of the Outlook Express Setup – Modify an Existing Account page

Step 4 -
Type your name in the dialog box as you would like it to appear on your outgoing e-mail
Step 5 - Click "Next."

Step 6 -
Type your full e-mail address (i.e. your-name@your-domain.com)
Step 7 - Click "Next."

Step 8 -
Enter "mail.your-domain.com" for your incoming (POP3) mail server. Be sure to use your actual domain name here!
Step 9 - Enter "mail.your-domain.com" for your outgoing (SMTP) mail server.
Step 10 - Click "Next"

Step 11 - In the Account name field, type your full e-mail address (e.g., your-name@your-domain.com).
Step 12 - In the Password field, type your e-mail password.
Step 13 - Check the box next to Remember password
Step 14 -
Click "Next"

Step 15 - Click the 'Finish' button

Step 16-
In the "Mail" tab select the account you just created, and then click "Properties".

Step 17 - Click the Servers tab
Step 18 - At the bottom of the window under "Outgoing Mail Server," check the box that says "My server requires authentication" and click the "Settings" button

Step 19 - Select the circle next to "Use the same settings as my incoming mail server"

Step 20 - Click "OK"
Step 21 - Click the "Advanced" tab
Step 22 - Under "Server Port Numbers," change the "Outgoing mail (SMTP)" port from 25 to 587

Step 23 - Click "OK", then "Close"
